The notebook is the second of two volumes and documents H. S. Ladd's work in Fiji during July 19 - August 12, 1934. Pages are numbered (1 -108). Entries are dated and headed with location. They are written in the format of a series of letters to Ed (possibly Edward, no last name listed), describing observations of the reefs and inland sites (including caves), weather, daily work, extensive descriptions of interactions with local inhabitants and colleagues (referred to as Willy, last name may be Wainifoco), travel logistics, fossils and shells collected, sites where field work was completed, including a extended sail to other islands in Fiji. There are entries written by his colleague
